Oppidan

MYP2 & DP1

This week we had implemented the new Oppidan mentoring programme, where our DP1 students will act as mentors for MYP2 students.

This project will allow them to develop key skills such as leadership, teamwork, empathy and listening skills, while MYP2 students will be supported by guides throughout their school day.

This programme reinforces the core values of our CIT community, giving all participants the opportunity to grow both personally and academically – we are sure it will be an enriching experience for all!

We continue with our renovation works! Below you will find some photos of the progress of the refurbishment work on our CIT PLAZA with new playgrounds and a Secondary and Baccalaureate building.

This week all the pillars of the classroom have been finished and we are now:

– Making the formwork for the roof, the reinforcement and the safety netting below and to the side.

– Beginning with the placement of the reinforcement of the retaining wall of the grandstand and starting to pour the concrete.

– Making the lift shaft with its corresponding reinforcement.

– Making the rainwater drainage network of the sports area.

School House Assignment Act

Families of new students and families of PYP4 students

On 27th September, we experienced a magical moment with the celebration of the School House Allocation Ceremony. The ceremony was a true reflection of the community spirit and sense of belonging that characterises our school.

The PYP4 children and the new CIT students received their scholarships with great enthusiasm, accompanied by the inspiring gaze of the older students. It was an honour to have the presence of the Year 2 families and the new students, who made the event even more special.

After the ceremony, the students continued their school day with the joy of being part of their new homes. We would like to thank everyone who attended for their participation and support – this has been a truly unforgettable start to the school year!

Student Council

All families

We have the new Student Council representatives! After an exciting and very participative election, we now have the new members of the Student Council for this academic year.

The campaign was full of creativity, commitment and inspiring proposals from all the candidates. We would like to congratulate the students who have been elected and thank all those who participated in this process, where the spirit of collaboration and leadership they have demonstrated reinforces the value of the student voice in our community.

The new Student Council representatives will take on their role with enthusiasm, and we are confident that their work will bring many new ideas and improvements to our school.

Congratulations to all involved!

Beyond Education

MYP1, MYP5 & DP2

On Monday we kick off our Beyond Education project for our students in MYP1, MYP5 and DP2. This test is designed to measure their softskills (Creativity, Resilience, Ethics, Leadership, Courage, Curiosity, Critical Thinking, Communication, Metacognition, Mindfulness, Collaboration, Growth Mindset) and the impact of our Experiential Curriculum.

We are super excited about this project as it will provide each student with personalised results and practical advice on how to improve and apply these skills in their daily lives. This approach will allow them to not only better understand their strengths and areas of development, gain valuable tools for their personal and academic growth, but also lead to greater learning outcomes and more effective educational programmes from our tutors.

It allows us as a school to better understand the competency profile of our students and to set targets for improvement in the areas we consider and to celebrate successes.

We would also like to remind you that all students have the option to wear either shorts (for Infants and Primary) or long trousers (for Secondary and Baccalaureate), whichever they prefer.

Tip/ Curiosity of the week

Outlet C.I.T.

All families

We are pleased to announce that, as part of our sustainability and family support initiatives, next Monday sees the start of our second-hand school uniform flea market.

This event is an excellent opportunity to purchase uniform items in good condition at affordable prices, encouraging reuse and responsible consumption within our school community. You will be able to find everything from polo shirts and jackets to trousers and skirts.

The flea market will take place every Monday, next to the uniform shop, from 15h to 17h30 and will be open to all school families.

The money from the sales will go to the Family Lab. We look forward to your participation and to continue promoting sustainability together!
