University and Career Guidance Programme
MYP5 & DP1
We have started the University and Career Guidance Programme, a key initiative of the Guidance Department to guide our students in their academic and personal development.
The students are currently working on a SWOT analysis, reflecting on their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and future challenges. This process fosters their self-knowledge and leadership in the construction of their own life project. In addition, they will take a TEA Ediciones test to assess cognitive, social and vocational skills, which will be combined with Beyond Education’s metacognition, character and personality test, completed last week.
These results will allow for individualised motivational interviews, where study options, university admission processes and much more will be discussed. Follow-up will continue from MYP5 until the end of your DP2 stage, complemented by CV workshops, interviews and our university fair.
Renovation Works
All families
We continue with our work! Below you can see some pictures of the progress of the renovation of our CIT PLAZA with patios and new building.
This week 100% of the roof has been concreted and now they are:
- Loading the roof and progressively removing props as the concrete sets.
- Erecting the parapet that will collect the insulation and waterproofing of the roof.
- Making the retaining wall in the area of the existing olive tree (25% concreted).
- Making the connections between the two levels (stairs, ramps and slope).

Holiday World Run
All families
The Holiday World Run is just around the corner, and we would like to invite all families to book on the 24th November to join in this exciting charity event.
This year, the funds raised will go to the C.E.S.M.A – Proyecto Hombre Foundation, and our High School students will be volunteering as part of their CAS social action project for the IBI Diploma. After last year’s success, we would love to see CIT sign up again as a group. It will be a fantastic opportunity to enjoy outdoor physical activity, spend time with family and support a worthy local cause.
The aim of our CIT Runners Club is to encourage family experiences through sport, preparing for future sporting and recreational events. From the school, we will also provide preparation for the students through our physical education classes, including a three-week 5k training plan to encourage them to participate in the race.
We will share more details about registration soon, but in the meantime, mark November 24th on your calendar and get ready to run for a good cause!

First pre-assessment reports
All families
Soon, we will publish the first pre-assessment reports of the course, which provides valuable qualitative evidence of our students’ development in these first months.
Through formative feedback, it details each student’s progress in acquiring skills and content, allowing teachers and families to identify where they are and how to continue to support their learning.
This assessment is key to adjusting strategies and ensuring comprehensive academic growth throughout the rest of the school year.
– Publication of first PYP pre-assessment from year 1: 31 October
– Publication of first pre-assessment MYP and DP: 8 November.
Debate League
MYP5 & DP1
Our MYP5 and DP1 students will be participating in the prestigious CICAE Debating League, a national competition that brings together schools from all over Spain.
The first tournament will take place on the 15th and 16th of November in Madrid. This event offers students the opportunity to develop communication, critical thinking and argumentation skills in a competitive and collaborative environment. Throughout the different phases, our teams will debate current issues, demonstrating their ability to express ideas clearly.
We wish them every success in this exciting experience!

Positive Discipline Tips: The importance of routines and limits
All families
For children and teenagers, routines and limits related to their well-being are fundamental, as they provide them with security, and allow them to gradually learn to set their own limits, both socially and individually.
Here are some recommendations for adults to set clear and effective limits:
– Use kindness and firmness in equal measure.
– Discuss with them to reach agreements on these limits, reflecting on the need to follow them in order to improve their well-being. (For example, if we are going to establish timetables for the use of devices, it will be important to discuss why these times are necessary, agreeing on the most appropriate schedule that allows other important and healthy routines to be followed, such as rest, physical activity, time with family and friends, etc.).
– These agreements should clearly state the actions that will be taken if any of these limits are not followed (e.g. if the device is not switched off at the agreed time one day, the next day the time will be deducted).
– Making these agreements visible will help to remember them, and is a way of making them clear that they are a very important aspect for everyone at home or in any community. A good way to do this is to ask them to design posters to their liking and make them visible at all times.
– There is always going to be a time when a boundary is not followed or respected. It is very important to act firmly, sticking to the agreement. This takes time and a lot of attention, but it will establish routines and help our children and teenagers to be aware of the behaviour expected of them in each situation, while helping them to understand the importance of self-care, caring for others and for their own environment, as they realise that these limits are aimed at their own and the common good.
